Typography

Two families, both from Google Fonts.

The printed guide specifies Polymath; we substitute Work Sans for web/digital so everything is served from one foundry.

Work Sans SemiBold • Headings

American Masters of Mathematics

Albert Sans SemiBold • Subheads and labels

Four days, five problems, one morning

Albert Sans Regular • Body copy

Every solution is read by a human grader, and afterward students sit down with those graders to talk through their work.

Guidelines

A short list of rules.

Please do

  • Keep clear space around the mark equal to the height of the Ω.
  • Use the full-color mark on white, off white or mint tint.
  • Use pure black when color is not available, and the knockout on dark or busy grounds.
  • Set a minimum width of 120px on screen, one inch in print.

Please don’t

  • Don’t recolor the mark or rebuild it from brand swatches.
  • Don’t stretch, rotate, outline, or add shadows.
  • Don’t place the full-color mark on photography or on the gradient — use the knockout.
  • Don’t set the wordmark in a substitute typeface.
